When I launched this website, my Grandmother was one of my biggest supporters, so I am beyond excited to share with you the history of my Grandma's grandfather.

The ask from Grandma seemed simple: "I want to learn about my Grandfather's life." But with an Irish surname as common as "Price," roadblocks were inevitable.

I had been researching for about a week, when I decided to go visit my Grandma for a weekend. In Connecticut, we chatted about her childhood, and her grandparents.

Then, with the smallest comment, the simplest of memories, the case broke wide open. My Grandma remembered that her mother had a burst appendix as a child. "She spent the summer with my Grandfather's sister in Rensselaer -- a woman named Jennie."

Now I had exactly what I needed... I needed to find a William Francis Price living in Rensselaer, with a sister named "Jennie." Or was it "Jenny," or "Gennie"? Maybe "Jennifer"? Only time would tell.

Then I found her: Jennie Price, youngest sister of William Francis Price. Living in Rensselaer.

This is the story of their childhood, the ancestors who paved the way, and the legacy they left behind.
